I had one from my lightning, thought it would be a wise option on the Uly, 8k no problems, I have close to 20k on 03 belts with the tensioner and no breaks.

20K with 3 belts??? Seems like a lot of belts for that mileage???

Also just a note... I still have the spring belt tensioner installed.. I have not removed it because the belt broke.

It seems to me the tensioner would be more forgiving in the moderate off road use if you had a small stone or twig in the belt. I think the Uly is the perfect platform for it. I had it and it makes for a great conversation piece with other Buell riders. ; )

Yup, got one on both of the bikes and swear by them (not at them......), I think they do a good job at decreasing the loads on the drive belt and bearings. Some folks think they are a bad thing.

Strange that you needed to remove the pulley at all??

On the '07, loosening he rear axle gives enough slack to slide that puppy straight in.

loosening it wasn't enough, then tried removing wheel all together, then couldn't get wheel back on. finally did what the book said and took the pulley off and it went on, though not without alot of bad words.
