I don't necessarily want to start a thread on it, since I'm not in charge of it, and I don't want to use BW for advertising, but the information can be found here:

I'm rider 521. (MN1k numbers are issued for life).
It's getting quite full so if you're interested...

If you go to my link at the top of the page, and click "distance rides and rallies" you can read all about the my crazy experiences over the years in the rally.

I see you're from Elba. Climbing that fire tower was one of the worst bonuses in my rallying history.

I have begun planning a 50cc (50 hours coast to coast from San Diego to Jacksonville) in late June. Of course, I also have to get back, so I might just do a 100cc.

While browsing the IBA website, I came across the Great Lakes 100. I was actually already planning this exact ride, I just didn't know it was a Iron Butt event! I was also planning on taking 1 more day, but things can change!

Go all the way around the great lakes in under 100 hours. Basically 2500 miles in 4 days.

The Great Lakes 100 is a really easy ride, as far as IBA rides go. I did it a few years ago and finished in 75 hours or so, and I wasn't exactly riding hard.

If you really hug the lakes through Michigan and Ontario, it would be a fairly hard ride, but if you do it the way I did, it's easy.

I went:
Minneapolis - Cleveland
Cleveland - Sudbury
Sudbury - Grand Marais, MN
Grand Marais - Minneapolis

Really, the only nice scenery though doing it this way, is at the Thousand Islands bridge in NY, and around Lake Superior.

On paper, my loop would be:
Columbus - East Troy
(short day ending in Homecoming banquet and concert)
450 miles

East Troy - Terrace Bay
710 miles

Terrace Bay - Toronto
720 miles

Toronto - Columbus
750 miles

Done in 84 hours

This does seem like an easier Iron Butt. Convenient for me I suppose!

I am going to recruit some help for mine. I'm not a fan of riding alone. Particularly not for a couple thousand miles. My brother-in-law has a TT, so he's my first victim.

Finally drained both tanks to where the countdown began. The fuel light came on around 265 miles today. That was all commuting miles, so I'd expect better on the slab. In all, I'm pretty pleased with that. 275-280 is about when I need to get off the bike. Anything over 300 and I'm uncomfortable.

Well, at highway speeds, that's like four hours travel time. You ought to need a stretch by then.
