Well, with help from this board I installed Rox Risers about 500 miles ago, tilted my bars back and all was good, until last week. After gassing up I noticed my right front turn signal was out. The right rear was fine, as were the left side signals. I took the bulb out but didn't look at the filament! lol I just assumed! I went to the store, got a new bulb, and then on the way home looked at the old one and it looked good. I tried the old one and no go. I tried the new one and no go. I then removed the flyscreen and found that one of the wire connectors coming from the right signal was pulled free. I could see that the cable coming from the throttle side had pushed it down due to the risers and bar movement. I disconnected the other wire, reattached both 'above' the throttle cable and all is good again. Plenty of room! Something to keep in mind! | ||

The Buell friendly is what it takes. They fit well, don't require longer cables, and are well made. | ||

Yes, mine are the Buell friendly risers, as you refer to them. I called Rox, discussed them at length and bought directly from them. No cable change required. Mine are the two inch risers and though I pulled them back a bit I still didn't require a cable change. I'll look into posting a picture or two tomorrow. | ||

DId you go with the 2 inch risers or just the one inch blocks? I went with the 2 inch risers and the only issue I had was I needed to reroute the brake line. | ||

Yes, 2"ers here too. No changes except removing the front brake line locator tab from the back of the headlight housing. Mucho better!! Almost infinite adjustment. | ||

Ghostrider, I just noticed that you live in Rio Rancho! I'm a North Valley boy and used to ride from Corrales, on horseback, across Rio Rancho way before your time when it only consisted of empty lots being sold in N.Y. to those dreaming of retirement in the west. Ah, the old days! lol I'll agree with you on that Tiera Amarilla to Tres Piedras route being a great one. Two years ago on the way back from Sturgis I had to sit and wait, joyfully, high in the mountains as a cattle drive worked it's way over the mountain on a beautiful N.M. summer day. Then, I got to Tres Piedras and found that the old gas station, the only one in town, was closed and I was on fumes, um, not good! I knew I should have gassed up in Chama! lol I pulled into the old car crushing plant just at the edge of town in Tres Piedras, heading toward Taos, and tried to ward off the guard dogs as I screamed to get the attention of the crane operator over the loud noise. He finally noticed me, was a good guy, and told me he only had 'old' gas from the 'old' cars. He didn't recommend it! I had no choice! I was THRILLED and never had a problem. I ride through New Mexico often and it will always be my 'real' home. I'm glad I noticed that. | ||

Wow... great story. I have often found myself on fumes in that neck of the woods. My Firebolt holds about six drops of gas, so I'm forever topping off. If you're ever out this way again, gimme a shout. I love to get out for a ride and I'm really looking forward to putting some miles on my new '09 XT. | ||
