Hello,

I was just checking my 2006 manual and says that the amount of fork oil per leg is 17.75 ounces or 0.53 liters, as i'm changing to the 2007 springs is the amount the same as i suspect the internal of the forks are the same, any one can check in their owners manual, in the specification section, as i tried on the web manuals but i dont seem to find it. Also what oil brands do you recomend.

Thank you and happy new year.

The real way to install fork oil is to measure the height of the oil in the fork tubes.

Since the 07 springs are progressive coils, the oil levels would probably be different.

I think the 07 has the same fork tubes as the 06? I would use the specifications from the 07 manual if you are going to the 07 springs.

Yes, every single item is the same from '06 to '07, except the spring itself.

I did this change on my 06 and wonder what took me so long. The 06 springs never really 'bothered' me...but the progressive '07s are SOOO much better.

Use the '07 oil levels.

MORE IMPORTANTLY - use the '07 fork adjustment settings. Your preload will change, obviously...but the damping settings are different from 06 to 07 if I recall correctly.

Ratman is correct. Here's a link to where I changed my triple trees and fork springs. Near the end of the first page I have the 07 volumes and procedure for filling. I couldn't give a more accurate amount to start with cause I tried to use logic by putting the springs in first which I later found out was WRONG! So I lost some oil and any sense of accurate measurements. Here's the link:

Anyone have the fork oil spec and amount for the 07 they could share? I plan on doing this mod soon as the springs come in.

Thanks

Speaking of forks, I needed to replace seals and I was looking for a swap outseal. Those forks I believe are standard from manufacturere. I do not know who makes forks.I was told that the forks are also used on some of the YamSuzKaw's but couldn't find them. Anyone know?

Pontlee77-Yup, mine were also cheap, but took awhile to arrive, versus going to local KawHonSuzYam dealership. dealers up the street. Hardley dealership 2 1/2 to 3 hrs roundtrip. I order through Al but still takes awhile shipping.
