Crempel,
I paid extra for a new service where the contents within the box disintegrate after 4 days if not opened to fresh air.

I got my bike back together today (added the comfort kit...see broken torq bolt thread for that fiasco). I received the replacement tall seat from the dealer a while back, and with the bike back together, it was finally time to try the fit. AND IT FITS PERFECTLY! That other seat must have been made on a Friday afternoon or something. One happy camper here.

OK, so I'm puzzled. If HD does away with the ability to order seats, something that I would consider pretty essential to a bike, how can they say they are supporting a bike for seven years???

Because these seats are an accessory.

I beg to differ Froggy. That's like saying that tires are an accessory. Where the heck you going to park your ass if you don't have a seat?

The Dunlop tires could be considered an accessory too. Actually I am not sure about that, they don't list them anymore on the website. Either way, if its in the accessory catalog, don't count on being able to get it.

If you had some warranty issue and needed a new seat, you would get a new seat no problem, just not the one you think you are getting.

The tall Uly seat hasn't been OE since 2006, and most '06s are out of factory warranty (extended are the exception, of course...but if a seat was going to 'fail' it likely would have by now). Chances are, if you needed a warranty seat...you'll get a current OE "lower" seat.

I've got a tall seat that I will trade for a low seat. It's from an '06, all black and is in very good to excellent condition. No tears, it has a boot sole scuff or two on it.

It looks like some people like the tall seat here. I have the stock after 07 seat that is shorter than the o6 seat, but not as short as the low seat from what I am told. Can anyone shed some light on this? I am 6'2" 245 lbs. any opinions would be great!

Hey Ron...I've an 07 stock (black/black) in really good shape (because it lives in a box) that I'd trade ya!
