I do not have the bike yet (its on its way 06) but I have gotten the ecm spy program from a kind badwebber already... not sure if its the latest version though, how would I know? I now need the cable... where would one find it? I know if I search enough I could probably find the best deal but I figure asking you guys would be best place to go. | ||

the man with seemingly infinite knowledge speaks again. Thank you... I dont even know how to check what vesion I have yet as its a zip file on my mac at the moment and I'm sure it will work just fine for now so no rush or necessity on the latest version numbers. I *think* the latest one is 1.12.27, at least thats what it says in the title on my copy. There might be a newer one out there, but thats the most current one I know. | ||

Eshaw: "its a zip file on my mac"? I don't think that ecm spy is a mac program. Seems to me it a pc executable. If I'm right, and it's a pc program, you'll need either a real pc, or one of the pc emulator programs for mac, like: Apple's Bootcamp, VMWare, Parallels, or maybe even CrossOver (maybe). I believe you are right Bttrthnwrk, I only downloaded it to my mac as a file because I drank the mac coolaid also and cant bring myself to us pc anymore... unless I have to! I downloaded it to mac and was planning to move it to my pc, which I just tried... no worky. Anybody willing to send me a copy (prefer the one froggy talking about... froggy?). I'll download it to my pc and try it that way. Cable on the way... bike is here on Tuesday... woohooo! thanks froggy for the code info. | ||

I need to download the installer again, I got it a while back and cant figure out where I put it. Eshaw, you should be able to just email the zip file to yourself and open it on your PC. | ||

froggy, I put it on a thumb drive and opened it on the pc (same as emailing really) but couldn't figure out how to make it work, or how to open it. I believe now its just operator error so I am going to go on a search for a thread to figure out how this program is suppose to work. I thought it was an all in one program that I just opened and used, but I'm now questioning that... especially with Towpro's comment on megasquirt working with it. This is all new to me so more reading and research in the near future. If someone has a link to end all, let me know. | ||

Towpro sent me the EXE (Thank you). You literally just run the EXE, install it, then run the program. When you open it for the first time, it will be in German, so you click on the wrench icon and switch it to English. You don't need Megalog viewer, that is only if you are going to be tuning and want to view your recorded logs. | ||

maybe its computer help I also need? When I try to open my unzipped program EcmSpy.exe I get an error message... "Component "MSCOMM32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" Does that sound like me or my computer error, or does it sound like a corrupt software issue? |
