Ok ,i got an o8 uly , last time i was home and able to ride it , anytime i get around 96-105 mph i get a really wired wobble , that feels like a bad head shake that is typically related to to dirt bikes and sportbikes , i have tried checking my air pressure , (front and rear) tried tightening up the preload and rebound front and rear , no help , then i tried loosening it up a bit , but cant seem to shake the shake , anyone got any ideas for a cure , right now im lookin for a stering stabilizer , but i would like to correct the problem before i put the stabilizer on it, a new bike with 3000 miles on it isent supposed to do that , its quite maddening really , i dont speed like that often but when i do i dont wanna get that speed wobble in a curve and drop my scoot , any help would be great!

It's probably that M16 and scabbard you've got tied to the fork.

A steering stabilizer won't fix the problem your having.

Have you checked/tightened the steering head bearings?

At 3000 miles, your rear tire is getting square. What you are experiencing may be due to that.

Check your steering head bearings (I'm assuming you have a manual for the bike?), and your front tire for cupping.

My headshake totally went away when I put on a new front tire - the old one was OLD.

Try increasing rear spring preload for a more nose-down stance / less rear sag. More weight on the front end may help stabilize it.

Also...around 100, I tend to deathgrip just to hold on. Might be a contributing factor as well.

reading that through dirtbikers eyes, my first thoughts are to raise the front end and drop the back...also make sure your not causing it by deathgripping the bars.

having gone through a stage were i was riding my DRZ regularly on the freeway, knobbies and all, i also pinpointed wobblemakers like the front fender flexing in the wind, and only having one mirror catching air.
man was that a blast passing cars on I75 on a dirtbike covered in mud lol.

Definitely check the tires, steering head bearings, and brake system for anything worn or out of whack before changing anything else.
Take all suspensions settings back to the owner manual values for your weight before testing again.

Have not heard of this complaint before, so it seems only reasonable to check for something wrong before trying to re-adjust the suspension and ride height.

Also, check and see if this only happens on a certain section of road surface.

Not sure how a squared rear tire would ever cause this, but a strangely worn front certainly could.

do you have flat spot in the middle of your front and rear tire. I have the wobble now too and both tires need replacing due to the 4,000 mile trip I took this year. I'm thinking a flat spot could cause the wobble
My bike goes in the shop week of Thanksgiving for 20,000 service and new shoes!

thnx guys , i was courious about the steering head bearings , i havent checked em yet but i will next time im home , im in the army and stationed at ft.carson colorado , jus need to ship it here , but yes the rear is a bit worn and no i do not have any cupping of the front tire , but im sure it could stand to be replaced anyway ,as for riding the speed limit.... i do for the most part , but everyone knows that 1 or two straight aways or set of back to back s curves that are just way to darn sweet to take at 55 , lol so yes i do enjoy a bit of play time , but not always, well anymore sugestions are very welcome and i will check everything that has been posted so far , thnx again!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWARD8xTJuA
