I am thinking about adding the heated grips to my 06. Part #N1050.1AK. Has anyone added these to their 06 or 07? Do they work well? Are they better then heated gloves? Looking for some input before I make the big purchase. | ||

if they are anything like the 08 ones they have 2 settings hot and bbq. But don't get me wrong they work very well. I think that for year around riding they are a must. I don't like plugging in and out with heated gear so I prefer heated grips. | ||

I did the same thing, added the grips to my '06. Love 'em...for nights like tonight (when it dropped into the lo 50s on the way home and all I had were my summer gloves). Grips are always there...flip a switch, aahhh. Gloves, though, are the way to go when you KNOW it's gonna be cold. But to answer...yes, they work very well, and they practically install themselves. Plug and play, drill one hole (they include a bit and a template), and roll. | ||

I use grips and gloves in the winters, my gloves have most of the heat on the back of the hand, so the grips work on the palm. Also, you can't leave heated grips at home, so they are great for those chilly days or sudden rain. | ||

I put them on my 07. It was an easy install. They get HOT. You actually have to turn them off once in awhile to avoid getting heat blisters. A great add-on. | ||

I have them on my XT and I installed them on my wifes '05 Scg. I love them,I also use the Palmer deflector extensions.Both bikes  just my .02 | ||

The heated grips are one of the better additions I've made to the bike, aside from the pipes BBQing your right thigh, the heated grips do well in cooler weather to keep you warm all over | ||

I live in San Diego..I thought "why the heck do I need heated grips??" But my 08 Uly came with them. What a revelation! ALL my bikes will have heated grips from now on. I use them in times that I'd never would think that I would. And I don't wear big fat gloves any more in the winter. Al | ||

I have the Polly Heaters also. They are cheap and easy. They work well also. For my next long winter ride I will be having heated gloves also. I actually baked the palms of my hands to keep the backs of them and my finger tips warm. Around town and shorter trips they work real well. As stated, they are so nice to have with summer gloves when caught in the rain or a chilly night. Whatever ones you get, they are well worth the effort. | ||

I have the Polly heaters as well. I suspect I have the snowmobile model, because they get HOT on high. I either use them on low, or wrap my grips in bacon before I take off so I can have a tasty snack in about 20 minutes. Once you get used to heated grips, you'll be spoiled. Grip heaters and BMW sport grips are the first farkle I put on any bike now. (Message edited by dgunther on September 02, 2009) | ||

Dgunther-Need to try the bacon. I remember the stuff on my exhaust maniforld on my 56 ford. I also put the BMW grips on my bike.I set the heaters t hi then switch to low after a few miles. | ||

Since putting the heated grips on, the Gerbings(sp?) never leave the saddle bag. | ||
