and CRASH! your idling Uly faceplants in the driveway.

Scuffed bag and broken clutch lever are all the damage. Not too bad. It was parked on .0001% incline and the kickstand must not have locked forward. It was bound to happen I guess.

I watch mine like a hawk, I've seen it inch forward whilst idling, can't blame it - it just wants to go! Why don't front brake levers have some kind of lock to engage as a parking brake?

I was parked in a parking lot one time when I started my Uly to warm it up. I was turned away from it putting my helmet on when I felt the motorcycle hit me in the back of the leg. I was luck to catch it before it rolled off the stand and fell over. You have to be careful with the sidestand and the motorcycle sitting at just the slightest slope when the motor is running.

I never park mine downhill...but it sounds like you were on virtually flat terrain...odd! I found how crash worthy the Uly was too, but that was from an inferior design of a muffler jack support bracket.

I use a large-ish o-ring to hook around the front brake caliper - bike doesn't budge a bit.
When not in use, it dangles on the edge of the bar and has a small o-ring to tighten it onto the bar.
It's like a miny hand-brake.
If you're interested, pay me the postage and I'll send you a pair - hate to hear of a falling bike for the sake of such a simple item.
Offer applies to anyone.

I was "backing" out of a parking spot at a Wallgreens, slipped on an oil spot..the rest is history. No damage as it was all in sloooooowwwww motion. Never took so long to drop a bike. The worst of it was the group of high school students in the parking lot having a car wash...good thing my helmet was on so they couldn't see how red in the face I was!

From '07 they changed the sidestand. Not sure about the Uly but for the 'bolt you can get a sidestand upgrade.

I can park my bike facing downhill, and I see the difference with the stands on the '06 models. They seem to lock near upright. Mine comes down in the same position and I move the bike back from there to get a more stable position.

A friend with an '04 cut off the pimple that locks the side stand into place. It sits in about the same position as mine. He did it 4 years ago and no adverse effects.

I was at my brothers yesterday and he has a sloped cement driveway.
My bike was facing uphill,I started it and was putting my helmet on and wasn't watching my bike,my brother ran over and grabed the front brake just in time as it was sliding down the driveway. We both said at the same time this thing needs a park brake.
I think Strada's O ring idea may be the ticket!

Yeah, but if you O-ring the front brake, won't the back end just start bucking like a wild bronco?

Only if you pull it really hard!

You could add another 2 bigger O-rings to strap your wrists to the bars
