My Uly left me stranded on the side of the road this morning. The last couple of time that I have rode it I have noticed that I have had to charge the battery. Well, this morning it didn't last. The system was not charging at all and when all the juice was gone out of the battery the bike stopped running. Does anyone have any pics or link to a thread on how to change the alternator. I think this is the problem since the system is not charging the battery or producing any juice at all. Any help is welcome. I did check all of the connections and everything seemed tight.

Could be the 77 connector, the stator, or the voltage regulator. 77 connector is most likely and cheapest to fix. Once you get it fixed, put some kind of voltage indicator on it so you know if you have a problem before the bike dies.

And remember, if it is a stator (alternator) problem...it might have also fried the Voltage Regulator.

I was reading on another forum and I unplugged the stator plug behind the clutch cover and used a volt meter. The thread said I should get 32-34 volts dc. I was only getting 6+/- volts depending which hole I tested. I am assuming that this means that the stator is bad. I tested the light grey plug. All of the rest were black. If I tested the wrong one please let me know. Also does anyone have any instructions on how to replace this part that they can send me?

I did this for changing to the XB9 primary but it still includes everything you'll need to do to get to the stator, if you decide that's the problem. I'd check the voltage regulator first and then check the stator. There are three test in the book, do all of them. Here's the link if you need it:
