I started on a long trip from northern Michigan to Johnson city TN and it has been an adventure with rough to a degree that my hands are tiningling some and not fun to ride long distance ... so mild to moderate.

What I have done has check the bearings and balenced the tires. replaced the plugs and wires ... nothing has helped: ( Also the front isolator is fine.

The bike in idle held at 3000 or above will flutter the rpms of so slightly 100-250 rpms + or -. On the road it feels rough and is a little worse as it gets warmer. The ECM spy has no error code and AFM (?) is at 110%. No engine light.

Not the most fun on a trip of 2000 miles in total. Any help to fix so it will be better on the way home!!

Only thing I can suggest is check the primary chain adjustment. A loose primary chain will definitely cause vibration and make the handlebars feel buzzy. The RPM flutter might just be the tach bouncing around from the vibes.

Hey Chas, if you are coming from Michigan, you need to go to Greatlakes H.D. in Bay city. Talk to Jay, or Anthony. Jay is the resident Buell expert, and he won't steer you wrong. These guys are awesome to deal with. I don't know if you are troll or a yooper, but the trip will be worth it. I live 13 miles south of the bridge, and the ride is not that bad. Good luck,

I have tried the primary but all is a okay. so any other ideas? it is humid in TN!!! thank you.

the frount mount isolator is fine, it runnz rough.

Dump a can of Seafoam or Techron in the gas. Maybe you've got a dirty fuel injector?

Is it consistent? Does the problem come and go, or is it like that all of the time, except for warm up?

Could be a vacuum leak?
I have seen new plugs that look fine and have a crack in the electrode insulator.
Plug gap off maybe?
Make sure battery cables are tight, check ECM plugs and grounds everywhere.

Sorry to put a wrinkle in the story but the bike did run better with the ECM un-plugged and put back with the slight RPM flutter. (At the rally in TN I was at I was either interested in having fun or knowing that it would not be fixed untill home). So the 800+ mile back home ride was noted vibs ... so front isolator?

So I got home Sunday and a new front isolator was waiting for me. I took off the old and saw rips developing on the top side of the puck. (even without I would have replaced it) The new isolator went on without much fuss except needed the rear jack point to be all the way jacked to line-up the long pin to easly screw into the frame. After all this the bike runs silky smooth as the rpms go higher not the opposite.

The poor front isolator has a lot of force placed on it. Well I hope the "up-graded" isolator lasts longer than the 1st one (9000 miles).
