Alright, trying to adjust my shifter position last night and I guess the top one had been loctited in or something and it of course snapped the rod end off. It didn't take much either! Pensacola Harley Davidson says about a week if not B/O'd. Anyone know of a dealer who would have one or better yet, a suitable sub? Its just threaded aluminum rod. Maybe Motion Industries or something? Anybody dealt with this before? Thanks |

Heh...I broke the linkage on my Firebolt at about 9PM the night before leaving for the NE Adventure years ago. Needless to say, there were no dealerships open. I ended up buying some adjustable double-ended eyebolts from Home Depot and rigging it with that. It lasted through an entire day of really hard riding in Ohio before bending/breaking as I pulled into the first scheduled stop. The dealership hosting that night was kind enough to send a trailer for me and then give me a new one for free off a floor bike since they didn't have one in stock (probably didn't hurt that Mr. Buell was wandering around the dealership that day). |

Just bear in mind, the end of the linkage rod with the ring cut into it is LH thread. Send me a note at jgoetz@hdoffrederick.com today if you still need one. I'm pretty sure there's one in my desk drawer. Do you need just the eyelet? Or the rod itself? If an eyelet, is it the LH or RH thread? |

Rat, don't forget about all the extra parts that were ordered in our miscommunications with the parts department. |
