Sorry Doc!

One thing about riding the Buell with a loud can is the tips come out under you and the sound resonates off of the road. Riding a HD, or most of the others, they exit behind you.

New shirt reads "Loud pipes scare deer!"

I had an old "big Inch" snortster back in the day.Had a great set of pipes on it. was told many times, "we heard you coming 2 miles away". The Uly is in stealth mode, and for this bike, I kind of like that. Works for me

I've got Vance and Hines on my X1 and have the race kit on the XB9SX but when I bought the ULY I left it stock because I knew I was going to tour with it. I still wear custom ear plugs because I have moderate hearing loss in both ears. Thanks to all of those concerts I went to and Hammerjacks back in the 80's then riding without ear plugs until 2004. Now I need reading glasses to read menus and stuff. Crap I'm going to be blind and deaf in my golden years. At least they won't be able to catch me when I'm riding K

I'm surprised nobody's fitted an exhaust cutout to their Buell, like old hot rodders used to do. That way, you could have the best of both worlds!

Yeah... My Drummer lasted about 2 months. Was like getting whacked on the head with a hammer on long rides. I keep meaning to wire the servo open to see how that works. Might be a good happy med.

I always ride with ear plugs...

Since lots of you guys are mentioning ear plugs......

I have tried the foam ones but found it actually made the low booming noise worse or more absorbed.

What are your favorite ear plugs and where did you get them?

Thanks

Does the silicone make your ears look fuller and perkier?

I have a caulking gun with a full tube of silicon adhesive sealer. Is it OK if the ear plugs are hard to remove after they set?

Damnut - I think I'm going to get one of those shirts and wear it every time I have to visit my local HD/Buell shop...NOT.
