Hi, posted this in "tips", but I think it's buried to deep...

Is it possible to use one of these to lift an Uly (or any XB)?

Yes; I have one myself. Use it with a wooden cradle to fit the muffler built using the template at this link:

Pay attention to the jack points marked on your muffler when you use it.

This would probably be another good thing to include in the New Owners section.

Thanks for the info. Any reasons to use a pit stand instead of this jack?

Bossie,

The wooden cradle will not fit under the XT muffler if attached to that jack. I bought one and made the cradle and attached it to the jack before I realized this. I ended up detaching the cradle from the jack. To use I strap the cradle to the muffler, insert jack under cradle jack it level with wheels still on ground and then strap the cradle to the jack.

Only reason not to use the wooden cradle jack method would be if you wanted to lift the bike while removing the muffler, or were worried about a hot muffler.
I put weatherstripping on my wooden cradle to protect the muffler paint and provide better grip from slipping, so I have to remember not to put a very hot bike up on the stand.
Since the wooden stand cost the price of part of on 2x4, I'll live with the limitation.
I already had the jack.

I reinforced the wooden cradle with plate steel after I heard the first cracking sound while lifting the bike.
