Last time I rented a E Glide, I borrowed a buddy's bag liners. This, of course, is very handy for the bike as the hard bags are not easily removed. I am beginning to like this idea. I see HB makes a liner for the 42lt Journey bags. Any of you folks had any experience with these? I am thinking leaving the bags on the bike for inevitable beer run after shlepping your stuff into the hotel room might be cool. Also a added barrier against leaks. Farkle, farkle, farkle, ahh what the h*ll!  | ||

I have them and they work fine. Well made. You can't really stuff them as you run out of pannier before you run out of liner space. | ||

I use them and as a good side note they work perfectly as a carry on for most airline overhead bins. Makes it easier for the wife. I just say here this is your bag for the weekend try to keep it as lite as possible. | ||

Supertoon; I bought the liners for the 30 Liter Junior bags for Terri's bike, and the Buell liners for my Uly, and the H&B liners cost literally twice as much. As with most things, the Buell branded bags were a much better deal. I like the liners. | ||

I was a big fan of the roll-up vacuum bags, but must admit I like the liners more. I have found that rolling you cloths and packing tightly you can carry just as much stuff. Thanks for the heads up Crusty, that is the route I think I will go! | ||

+1 on the rolling of the clothes--you can pack a lot into the bags that way. Funny, they also don't seem to get as wrinkled that way; not usually something riders worry about, but when I'm headed somewhere for work on the bike, it's nice to know that I won't have to burn up riding time ironing.  I haaaaate corporate work environments. Live to ride... I've never seen a Uly carrying the Mermite/Army surplus as luggage. Anyone around here give that a go? Any pics on a Ulysses? | ||

The Journey liners are well made. I believe as mentioned above they cost less with the Buell label. You can't stuff them full, as they won't fit in the side case if you do. Save the kitchen bags for your dirty laundry. |
