I was looking at the spanish buell forum, and seems some people are flashing 2008 ecm with 2009 eprom, i dont really know if this is an answer to the 2008 eprom problems.

I have a 2006 with a race eprom on it and it works fine, had no problem with it at all.

Personally I wouldn't do it without reading more on it. In theory it should work fine assuming the ECM types are the same on both the 08 and 09.

I think you can burn the fuel map, but I don't know that you can burn the EPROM.

Chad and I tried to burn the race EPROM to a stock ECM. It flegged out. We were able to burn the race map to the ECM with no problem.

I think we may have a failure to communicate here.

EPROM = Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory

An EPROM is the "chip" in the ECM (or other electronic device) that retains the program that controls the engine even after you disconnect the battery. When you change the map, you "flash" or "burn" it to the EPROM in the ECM.

I think what Pontlee77 was saying is that some people are flashing the 2009 mapping onto their 2008 ECM's and the bikes run better.

Don't the '08 and '09 run different injectors. Could that cause a problem with the injector timings?

I think the injector change for 09 is just on the 1125's.

Word of "Caution" if you have an early 08 it can be tuned using ECM Spy. Late 08's and all 09's can't. There are a few other ways to correct some running issues without a dealer reflash, give us a call be happy to share what we have discovered. Terry - JT&S Performance
