Ya'll talk funny!

I've heard of it happening before, but I certainly would not call it an epidemic. Buy any used machine out of warranty and you get to fix it yourself. Pay up front for new and the factory guys will handle it.

I don't think I've ever seen another final drive bearing failure on a Uly. These failures seemed to happen occasionally on tubers if the belt was kept too tight (i.e.- adjusted per the factory recommendations).

Rear wheel bearing failures have been a problem on Ulys but the factory updated the bearings to deal with that.

Any comments???

If that's the attitude on a "Buell Enthusiast" site, I'd hate to see the comments on a "Buell Hater's" site. What a dogpile!

Not much love for XBs, Eric or dealers in that thread.

How could the belt be TOO tight on an XB ? Perhaps too loose from wear - but no adjustment for either condition I'm aware of, except a belt change. Can understand the gentlemans frustration - thats a 'bummer' - thankfully a rare occurance.

It's their attitude - which clearly has to do with them losing the Revolutionary War to the Yanks.

They need to just get over it ... we won!

EDIT:
I could be way off on this, though.

Great answers guys!!

If you think this is bad, you should see the postings on wheel bearing and steering head bearing failures!!!

Mind you, that's why I have a lot more faith in your opinions and answers on here!!!!

P.S. Johnboy777, we gave it to you

If you notice, the guy with the failure had also put an aftermarket tensioner on his bike, and a new belt 4k before failure.
No telling' for sure, but both of these activities have plenty of opportunities to go wrong, if not done properly.
I think some of those guys need a bi hug from EB...

Put a chain on it and call it fixed.
