FB - You are a smart guy and are doing the right thing. When things get tight, luxuries have to go. Though many of us ride to work, for most of us they are just luxuries.

You know my misfortune on the Dragon in 2007 became fortunate. The insurance company said 'totalled' and I thought they were crazy. I disagreed and tried to back out of it but they stood firm. I could have ridden the bike with a clutch handle assembly and brake lever. They wanted to replace the swing arm because it had a one inch, finger nail's width scratch in it. They paid off the bike and I bought it back and fixed it myself for $1500 worth of parts. It made no sense to me, but if it were not for that the Uly would have gone a long time ago. To be fair though I had the M2 to fall back on.

Hang in there! Heck the new ones have all kinds of cool stuff. Maybe Buell will put the 1125 motor into a Super Moto or beat Caviga to an Adventure Bike just in time for you to get back in the game. Hang in there.

Fatty knows he's welcome to ride my Uly if he needs a fix.

I am hoping when the time comes that he gets another bike, he'll let me beat on it a few times.

I really want another XB platform bike. I am to it what the Tuber guys are to the tubers.

Yeah, there is something more modern, but there is just no replacing the sheer "motorcycleness" of the XB.

+1 on the XB love.

if my opinion means anything:

It is a fine bike @ a good price. Used not abused. Plenty of nice farkles. If I already did not have a Uly I would buy it.

Fatty, you are welcome to barrow one of mine. If I can figure out to get the bolt candles working again.

Buell is more than just ownership.

I just stole that and submitted it on the meaning of Buell thread! I told them I stole it from you!

As Carlos said, his little adventure on the Dragon is the only reason the bike is still here. We hope to have the M2 up and running for MBVI. There will be plenty of extra bikes for you to ride. I hope things turn around soon for you. Family is first. Besides that, you know you don't have to own a Buell to hang around here. The place just wouldn't be the same without you.

You haven't gotten those things fixed yet?

What did I do? I can't imagine, with it's owner's riding style, that I rode it hard enought to "put its lights out". : D

It's owner probably doesn't do the burrito platter with the same flair and style as you. The bike just wasn't used to it.

No, I've seen him with the Burrito Platter.

He equals my gusto. Luckily, I didn't have to share a tent with him.

He also put a hurtin' on a swarm of bugs that night. I think they were attracted to the scent of death emanating from him.

"the scent of death" nice one.

The lights, I dunno, I need to spend some more time with it. Last time I tried to "fix it" the light still did not work and the bike kept running after i removed the key. Loose ground?

Right now the lights are off and I have a new set of race and rain tires. It's ready for some more track days. Lights need not apply.

Bad ground or other connection. When installing the HID kit on my bike I plugged in the wrong lights into the wrong connector, and even with the key out the lights and gauges and everything was still on.

Ft_B, next time we run into each other outside of Sonic, you can take my bike for a run.

Rumor is I get it back within the next week or so from Bumpus. They have been holding it hostage since October waiting for some part. I think they called it a "frame". Not sure where that goes on a Uly.
