CAUTION: If you do that, be certain to have the side case brackets installed, they are critical to the integrity of the system. You can run without the sidecases, not without the brackets.

Don - yep, different strokes, different folks : ) I can get my foot tucked up to my butt tight enough that I don't hit the top box, I always hit the sidecase on the far side. <shrug>

Here's a (*lovely* cameraphone) pic of my 06, with my Testors plastic model paint-matched orange bags : ) Seems to be sticking pretty well. I also blacked out the lower gray 'bumpers', with some sort of 'plastic bond' paint from Home Depot - it's textured, matches pretty well (not that you can tell from this crappy pic, lol).

All . . in my opinion ("style" is not my long suite) great looking variants. I REALLY like that all black look but the colored panels are also darned appealing.

Whouda thunk the Uly would become the "style platform" for dressing up?

I'm a function over form guy.

Lots of guys like to take the pretty girl to the dance. I wanna take the one that puts out! : )

I don't know about the Uly being a "style" platform...I think it's just genetic that bike owners want their bikes to be *their* bikes. Instead of spending $1000s in chrome, I dropped a whopping $7.50 on spraypaint and did it one afternoon during my recovery. Couldn't ride it, needed to do *some*thing bike-related, figured this'd be just the trick.

They actually match better than the pic would make you think. I need to get one with a 'real' camera...but I do like it. Ties the bags into the bike better, visually (IMHO, anyway).

And...why not take a pretty girl who puts out? LOL. Again - a real pic will reveal, this bike hasn't been washed since I bought it. She isn't all *that* pretty : )

Form vs Function. Interesting input. Kind of ironic actually as I would argue that no one does a better job of routinely combining F & F than Mr Buell. I guess some of us think you should be able to have both - or at least you should try.

I went to high school with a kid like Chad. He brought a sheep to the senior prom

I liked dirty girls too. Oh, what was the topic. First aid kit? I keep some super glue under the seat, works faster than stitches. No that wasn't it. O, big ole topcase. Like a radar pod on top a plane. I grab my ankle and slide it over the seat.

In case anybody is interested, I posted instructions and photos of how to change out the lock cylinders (along with the part number which doesn't seem to be readily available) on the Tech area of this board.
