Ok on the uly there is a three inch bit of muffle that is ahead of the pipes entrance. What is that really used for? I am thinking of hacking it off. Also thinking of ditching the chin spoiler. |

that front bit is stuffed full of packing, then you have the front expansion chamber. |

It's probably a good ideer to know how the stock muffler functions first.

Looks like the front is for sound deadening then. My goal is to eliminate some bulk, not weight, and open up the area in front of the pipes. I am sure I can do this and still retain the valve operations. I am not sure how loud it will be. After a few good winter storms I should have some time to find out. Thanks all. |

Louisirider, do a search for this one. It was covered recently. Some owners were pleased with the result, (more sound and power), but many reported loss of mid-range. |
