I have had some look worse that that. The engine heats up and expands and then the o-ring gets sucked in between the manifold and head. When the bike cools everything shrinks. Your o-ring gets pinched in the process. This happens over and over again until failure. That's why I really don't like HD intakes. I keep trying to figure out how to cure this problem, patent it and make a million dollars!!!

That's true on the Uly but I have a problem Geezer Glide. I've been through 10 sets of different seals and it still leaks. The problem is the heads are ported and a stock manifold is not big enough. I made some rings up to enlarge the OD .100". This makes it the same as an S&S intake only I still have the spigot mount for the Mikuni. The blue James just don't work when you stretch them over the larger diameter. I'm trying the S&S seals tomorrow. There is a lot more to this story but since this is a Buell website I'll just stop here. I could write a book!1
