Larry - I'd be coming from SE Michigan. If it works out for ya we could meet up somewhere for the ride to wherever we meet everyone else.

Works for me. If the ride is counter-clockwise as Propower418 is suggesting, those of us coming up from Michigan could meet the group in Sault Ste Marie and then leave the group in Duluth on the way back.

Google says there is about 5 motels in Marathon.
Terrance Bay has a motel/cafe/gas station/bar. I think they have 21 rooms there.
There is a website for the one in Terrance Bay but can't think of it right of the top of my head.

My wife will probably only let me go if she can go. No worries though, we've spend over three and half weeks at one time on the bikes-she's a real trooper.

Count me in for 09. I live north of Duluth on the northshore of MN.

It would be way easier if this jaunt was worked in concurrently with the 09' Buell Homecoming schedule. To make it out to that neck of the woods twice from Nebraska would really not be easy.

Come to think of it, Buell Homecoming ends up at the Road America track which is north of Milwaukee and it would be great if that was the take-off point to this "Buellysses Lake Superior Adventure Ride".

Maybe it would be a good idea to watch when the next Wolfshead rally is scheduled for 2009. I hear this is getting bigger every year.

this could be fun if it could be pulled off.I live 15 miles from the international bridge in sault ste, siberia, have plenty of room here in the country for tents and there are motels nearby.
a loose plan would be the best like a destination every day so people could go at there own pace.just another idea, see what everyone else thinks

I'm with EG on the timing. I'd have to choose between one or the other otherwise, it'd be nice to make both (though the Superior ride would win out over Homecoming, I think).

If you do have a past DUI, there is still a chance you can get into Canada. You need to contact their customs office and get written permission in advance.

So I wanted to bring up a topic from last summer. Did anyone make the Superior Circle Tour this summer?

Did anyone GPS route it and are their any good map files available for download on the net?

I and a Beemer friend are going to do it over the Labor Day weekend and are always looking for ideas and companions.

Any info or links are appreciated. Any maps that may be uploaded to a Lowrance GPS are appreciated as well.

Thanks!

The wife is pushing to do the trip over the Labor Day weekend as well. I'm just not sure if I'm going to be ready in time. Her bike is at the dealership right now getting a bad ground/not starting issue sorted out and as soon as I get it back it needs new grips and hand warmers. The other thing is we haven't planned out the trip at all yet, not sure which direction we would go-any of that jazz.

I'm planning this trip with a couple friends right now. Going the 2nd week in June. Any tips? Must see? Should avoid?
