In no particular order, these are some of the things that allow me to ride long distances:
Garmin 2820 Ram Mounted
Stock '06 Seat, w/ bike shorts usually.
Olympia Mesh Pants (SOOOOO much better than riding in jeans)
Hydration backpack
HVMP bar end weights
Ibuprofen
Earplugs (Always)
Uly Tall windscreen (may not be the best for some depending on your height)
Also, if you hare Garmin Mapsource and a GPS with "uploadability", spend some time learning the software or picking an "expert's" brain. It'll take about 30 hour to 45 min to get functional with the software, and then it makes planning trips even mo' better and funner. |

Here's what I did:
1. 1" handlebar risers from Al at American Sportbike.
2.Zummo 550 with xm antenna (I like music for long trips).
3. Autocom so I can get the xm into my helmet. Also use bike to bike comm.
4. Bar end throttle lock and weight on left side.
5. Bike is 07, but I bought a take off stock 06 seat from someone on this forum (much more comfy if you can reach the ground).
6. Bead rider bead seat for air circulation.
7. Calsci tall windsheild.
8. Most important: stop and get off every 100 miles or so. |

I just walked in the door from a 743 mile day. with no Slab, all back roads. 
Renthal low rise bar.
Zero Gravity tall wind screen.
Diablo Strada tires
Vista cruse
Garmin 76Cx
Ipod Nano
Sony noise canceling earbuds
HID conversion to help see the Deery deers at night.
With the small tank our bikes have, for me the main reason for the GPS is to easily locate gas stations |

I just got back from my trip and the Uly XT worked great!! I was so impressed with this bike. There are a few things that need fixing before a trip like this is temped again. 1. the seat was fine for the first few hundred miles but an alternative is needed for the higher mile days. Im looking in to a custom seat that fits my bum a little better. Second is to install a throttle lock. My last day I did 925 miles and my right wrist was not to happy with me I think a throttle lock would have helped alot. Short of those two things I was very impressed with how the bike performed. Thanks for all the advice I used many of the hints and tips. |

Just did over 1000 mi on the WV ride weekend.
Very little is needed on my '06 Uly.
Stock '06 seat=awesome for my 6'4" frame.
Buell tall windscreen keeps wind off body (less tiring), but causes lots of noise=earplugs required.
Heat blankets/homeade shields to keep the worst of the heat from heating up the seat. This set heat can make long distance rough, so plan ahead!
That's it! Nothing else required, but I did use my Garmin 550 for the first long trip, and really liked not having to worry about pulling out maps all the time (as long as you pre-progam your route). |

I use the Stock everything Uly!! Nothing added just the smile while riding. I would go insane without my MP3 player and headphones. Stop for gas and drink and go!!
Longest was 950 in one day.
I love my Uly!! |
