By "tail section" I mean the components tray and whatnot. I was wondering if, when I eventually redo the suspension, I could use the XT suspension on my Ss, then safely convert to a full Uly tail without worrying about making bump stop contact.

SS suspension will bottom out, so you will need to do the XT suspension swap.
