This is a hard one? I've looked everywhere, and next step is taking into a shop for warranty (if they find it).

An 08 Uly, 6k miles on the clock. When I putter in 1st or 2nd (or less than 4k revs) I occasionally hear this "ticch" catching sound from somewhere. Not the front end, but anything behind the bottom end.

I keep on hoping it is the belt "catching" on something every so often, however I just cannot see how/what. It does not happen all the time, but every "minute" when I'm coasting, under small power, to the lights. So this is just "idling along".

I have removed the belt guards (in case they were catching as after-market carbon jobbies), and nothing seems wrong. If I pull in the clutch, or even switch off the engine, it still happens sometimes.

Sorry - it is hard to describe. Otherwise the bike goes brilliantly - like the clappers except for a notchy third gear...

Any clues?....

That's what I've been hoping! But this is heard over a micron exhaust, and the same type of earplugs I've used for the last 10 years....

Seriously, I had this happen to me - it was, of all things, a loose headlamp fixture. Drove me crazy 'til I found it.

IIRC, others here have said it happens with a loose horn, as well. I would start under the front flyscreen 1st. Ck that everything is tight under there.

Good Luck!

Ta JohnBoy - have already covered off that. It's been happening for the last 6 weeks, and in that time I've had pretty much all plastic off the bike to check for "silly noises" that could be simple solutions.

My current thoughts are gearbox, primary drive, belt, or maybe rear wheel bearings....
