"The Ulysses, being air and oil-cooled, has the oil cooler mounted up under the seat, necessitating a fan to direct the air through it. The fan never came on when riding but as soon as the motor is shut off, the fan kicks in noisily. It may be annoying but Buell engineers tell me it’s necessary to keep the head temperature down after shutting the engine off. "

"...oil cooler mounted up under the seat" ???

makes me think that there should be a pointers class to these riders before they turn in their article. Hell I will take the summer off and show them the finer points of where an oil cooler is so they dont make @sses of themselves and put the creditibility of their mag at stake ; )
Just gotta fork over the dough, I will make the time.

[I never said anything about improving their spelling]

I remember reading a review a while back saying the xb12x was water cooled and the radiator was ingeniously place under the seat. "Another Buell Innovation"

How could a motorcycle magazine hire someone to ride and review a motorcycle who has NO mechanical understanding of how motorcycles work?

Would you not look at the scoop and see that there is a tiny radiator and then follow the lines back to the oil tank in the swingarm? Would you not look under the seat to find this "oil cooler"? Would you not look at the website at least?

How the f*ck do these people get these jobs?
