Ft_bstrd,

Yes! She pulled up next to me, rolled down the window and said "is that a motorcycle?". I said its a bad-ass motorcycle! Then she said "I thought it was a scooter or something".

Might as well kicked me in the nuts.

Back in the day [early '60's] i was in the Navy in Bremerton, Wa. and had a Norton Atlas. Went on a weeks leave and the top motor mount bolt vibrated out [imagine that!] so i stopped in a small Honda shop to see if i could get a new bolt. the "mechanic" asked me if was a 2 stroke or 4 stroke!!!!! later the same trip i pulled in at a friends house in Salem, Or. and his mom asked me if that was a "real motorcycle or was it a Honda"? Ignorance is bliss so don't be too hard on the uniformed. my current ride is an '06 Uly. probably my favorite all time street bike.

hey Ft--bstrd. i assume you all got back from the track day ok. we had a great time and went from there to n/e Ga. and rode that area for 2 days and then rode over to the world championship trials in Tenn.
Track day, mountain riding, and a little touring, on the Uly in 1 week. great do it all bike.

Yep, we got back fine. NE GA = Motorcycle Heaven.

What was weird was that I didn't ride for two weeks after Barber. It was tough to get my brain back down to street pace.

Im going to Suches in the morning(from ATL) on my new uly.

Objective: not the think I'm back @ the track aboard my NineR.

I cant get Barber outta my head. I keep seeing the turns and that 999 passing me like im backing-up.

Good luck with that, Matt.

It will be interesting to get your impressions on how "less capable" the Uly is compared to the 9R.

I dont have my full leathers with me.

I also forgot to bring my nuts.

I cant wait to dust off my sparky pucks on the ULY, but them dunflops is scurry. I have got a set of decent take off Pilot power 2cts with oranjello's name on them.

Just swap wheels. You can have them on in less than an hour.

Only problem is that pesky rear pulley. You were looking for a reason to do the the belt conversion anyway, right?
