I dropped it off at their Quakertown, PA shop on Monday and picked it up the following Friday so it was only 4 business days. They're not heavy just bulky so shipping wouldn't be too bad. Try DHL I've always had good luck with them. There ground service is sometimes as fast as 2 day air. I shipped an XB core down to Hickory, NC for a Drummer. 22 lbs. The header on my XB9R was coated black by JetHot. Turn-around was something on the order of 10-14 days, but I don't recall correctly. It wasn't an issue for me because I had bought a 'used' header from Hal's off one of their race bikes, so I didn't have any downtime related to it other than installation - and yeah, they'll coat the inside. They do excellent work. The coating still looks just like it did when I opened the box. | |||

Hey Cali... It's running great, not sure if I really notice a difference (heat wise) yet as it's still pretty chilly here (50-60F) but it does seem like there is a bit more umph due to more effective scavenging and it's definitely making the muffler hotter. I also put iridium plugs in FWIW. On the 2008 Uly the heat on the right thigh has only been noticable once or twice but ask me again come July/August  Yes, Jet-Hot coats the inside as well. Chrisgrant - I took my time with the engine rotation (first time). I did it at a relaxed pace (bagged & labled all fasteners) and took the better part of a day (~8 hours) but I also don't have a shop/garage so tool setup/cleanup adds more time. I'm sure it could be done in ~3 hours +/- especialy if you've done it before (know what to expect). I'm working on a chart that lists all the fasteners/tools/torques needed for the rotation. That will consolidate it as the manual has you jumping around six or eight chapters for all the info. I'll post that as soon as it's finished. (Message edited by 08Uly on April 14, 2008) | |||

08 - That would be fantastic. I was going to coat my headers, but when I got past the third page of the rotation procedure, and they started giving part numbers for special tools, I wimped out. | |||

Here is the Engine Rotation Chart I made/used. It applies to the 2008 XB12X but may also apply to other years. The page references are from the 2008 XB service manual 99490-08Y. Please Note: This chart only covers the fasteners. There are many other wires, connectors, cables, procedures etc. involved (SEE YOUR MANUAL).

Last year, I sent my exhaust out and had it ceramic coated black. I had no problems with rotating the engine, and it didn't require any special tools. I suggest, if it's your first time, that you take a lot of pictures as you go. They really help when it's time to re-connect wiring, or when you need to zip-tie that bundle together. They didn't coat the inside of my exhaust, and there's no noticeable change in the amount of heat radiated. It sure looks a lot nicer though, and the muffler hasn't shown any rust for over 14,000 miles. (Message edited by Crusty on April 15, 2008) | |||
