I've started this thread over on UKBEG, but thought would post here FYI.

Just had a micron setup put on my 2008 Uly to get rid of the stock skinny wee headers.

I'll type up some better notes in a few days, as I've only done some motorway miles since the mod. Thought I'd jot down initial differences which may be useful for others.

First off (on a side-track) - Maz, thanks so much for pulling out the stops yesterday - it was nearly an all nighter!
Just so you know, the throttle finally works without the inbuilt throttle-lock it had, the gearbox has lost its notchy third, and the breather is already working as there was gunk in it after riding home last night (not sure where it was going before!).

Back to the exhaust and headers - my bike has been running terribly - fouling plugs no matter how long the warm up, stuttering, flat spots, etc.. I had already been running a tubbs special (like a Special Ops), which was great - and just a massive difference from stock. The first few things I noticed after fitting the micron headers and can:
- It revs more freely
- Hardly any flat spot at 5k, if at all
- More grunt. This is for sure. Pretty subjective, but I would guess 5bhp more?
- A lot smoother through the rev range, less vibration (although the rest of the service would play a big part here)
- Loud. I like!
- Oh, and the flames out the pipe ends on closed throttle are a nice touch... I kid you not.

I'm pleased for you that it's running better,it's a huge relief after a period of poor running ain't it.
I look forward to hearing it in person, not heard a Micron on a Uly-they often seem to be louder than anything else.

Mine has a notchy third gear on occasion but not all the time, any idea what was causing yours?

You gonna drop in to visit my bike club sometime soon? I'm almost certainly gonna be there tomorrow, probably best to drop me a PM to make sure I'm going on whatever night suits you.
How was Egypt btw?

Cheers mate.

Is great that it is finally running, revving, better : D

An update on the exhaust now that I've been on a decent B-road ride. LOUD. I have to wear ear plugs - even on a trip down to the shops. It is incredibly loud. Maybe too much....

Vibration - I said it was gone, well it has not, it if just 'different'. The vibration seems to be much higher frequency.

It most definitely has more grunt. I think that this is down to the fat headers - as I already had a free-flowing can on the bike.

See you tonight Hoon : D
