What's the worst road/terrain you have successfully navigated on your Uly? | ||

I wish I had a photo of it. Last day of Buelltoberfest last year I found some nice single track in Suches, GA. It got very rough at parts and wasn't that fun with fully loaded bags. Somehow I didn't drop it, even crossing the few streams and all the bottoming out going over rocks. The only other thing that was down that trail were some horses, as I saw the horse shoe marks in the dirt. | ||

Here's a shot of my bike on the beach in Hawaii. I met a girl there by the name of WannaLaya, very nice local girl - any way the sand was tough to ride on ... so it was hard work all the way. I had to watch out for coconuts too - very dangerous stuff, actually. I'm no Danger_Dave, but I think the photo came out really well. Enjoy!  (Message edited by johnboy777 on April 04, 2008) | ||

I had mine two-up on some washed out mountain single track in North Carolina. It was crazy...exposed rocks, large ditches, mud all kinds of nasty stuff.... It was my Uly, an XT225 and GS Adventure.... We all had some issues... it was nuts, doing it two up! But it was oh so much fun! | ||

Haynes Quarry in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Steep grade, washed out dirt and softball-sized gravel with deep ruts that you have to try to avoid. I'll never try that again on MY bike! No damage though. A lot harder coming back down too. | ||

Great pix Cityx, thanks, and great responses from all. I'll have to test the limits of the bike when the snow melts a little up in the mountains. I hear Rampart Range is closed for the time being but Phantom Canyon or Shelf road is open. | ||

The road up to and then down the other side to "The Beaty Spot" in N. Carolina.Fiance' was on her F650GS.Wish I could have talked her into taking some action shots but she was a little nervouse. | ||

Hey Tsorl76 Try to hit up the area behind B Street if its still open to the public. Its a great place to at least get some off road riding time within the city limits. | ||

Last year I took my Uly to Taskers Gap ATV Trail located in George Washington National Forest. This fed trail park is in the Shenandoah mountains and has many miles of trails. Well I though I would take easiest of the ATV trails (around 6 miles long). Well with near vertical parts, lots and lots of rocks several spills and 3 hours later I emerged from the trail very tired and very dirty. I guess some of the dirt bike riders were having a laugh at my expense. I think in the future I will stick to fire trails and not tackle ATV trails! I wish I had pictures but no such luck. |
