Hey fellas how long does it take (for an average wrencher)to rotate the engine, in reading the manual it seems like allot of little stuff but could add up to some serious time.

The first time you do it will take about four times as long as the next time, so it will be a lengthy job. It's always that way when you try something new. After you've done it a couple of times, you'll whip right through without even giving it much thought. Expect it taking four times as long as you think it should take, then double that estimate.
If you don't allow enough time to do it right, you can get all screwed up.
Also, take lots of pictures along the way. They can really be a help when you're re-assembling things, and you forget exactly how that wire was routed, or how this ten pounds of sh*t fit behind that five pound cover.
Buells aren't difficult to work on, but you need to take the time to learn how they're built.

Just did this a couple of weeks ago for the first time.....took about 2 hours, but that included removing the headers and I was taking my time organizing the parts and taking pictures. Service manual will have you removing more than needed so you need to just think through. A simple scissor jack is perfect for lowering and raising the engine.

You don't have to do a lot of the stuff in the manual... I did half an hour of searching the archives here on badweb and found some good tips.

Two hours should be plenty, even working methodically. It seems bad when you are constantly circling the bike disconnecting this and that... but when you look up at the clock you realize it actually went pretty quickly.

Rotating the engine is exactly what it sounds like. You need to do it for some things like changing the header.
