Narrowed my choice down to these two tires for the Uly to finally replace the Dunlop dogs. The 2ct are $260 for a pair shipped from an eBay vendor and the the Corsa III are $270 shipped from Southwest.

Tough choice I would like to try them both and maybe will someday. Longevity is not a big criteria.

Also, I saw in some old threads where an XB rider recommended going with the 190 rear instead of the 180 when using the Pirelli Corsa III. Any fact or fiction on that recommendation?

I'm sure either will be a huge upgrade from the Dogs. It is amazing how you can get use to the swimming front tire on the Dogs. Had not ridden in awhile and went out last weekend and it was the first thing I noticed.

Thanks for your opinions on the choice.

Michelin 2CT (or Pilot Road 2 as they are now called over here?)

I attended a tyre talk last night and the 2CTs beat a wide range of tyres for durability and wet grip.

The test was carried out by an independent body called CERM, (Centre d'Essais Routiers Mechanique).

I thought there was another thread about Pilot Road 2 and the person didn't like them. They turned in too fast. It was a week or two ago. Then I think Fatty said he had already ordered a pair and had not put them on yet to see how he likes them.

I love my 2CT on the rear of my 12Scg. I'm still running a Pilot Power up front. They both seem to work great together wet or dry. The real test comes at MBV........

Just a note:

There is a Pilot Power 2CT which is a full sport/track day tire, and there is a Pilot Road 2, which while it is still a dual compound tire, it is a sport/touring tire.

Two different tires.

Ok, pulled the trigger.....Corsa III it is from this ebay seller for $248 shipped. No doubt I'm sure they will be much greater than my ability and i will provide a mini review once I get them installed.

Thanks for the feedbackhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&rd=1&item=280199144134&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN :IT&ih=018

I have Pilot Road 2CT's on my Uly and at first I hated them. Came close to going back to the BT014's.

BUT:
a rear BT014 only lasts 3000mls on my bike and the PR 2CT is past 6000mls now and still counting. Now I'm used to these tires.
