Hi there BadWeB peoples, i'm new to the world of buells as of this week but have been learning lots from reading here over the last while; I've just picked up a new '07 Uly, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the slip-on pipe Termignoni now make for it... the owner of my local HD dealership had one on his bike and spoke highly of it, it has an active valve like the stock pipe so he tells me i don't need to change the ECM or reset the TPS to run it, but i can't seem to find any posts or reviews about it anywhere... Anyone have anything good or bad to say 'bout them? Thanks for your help, and also for running such an informative and friendly - seeming site, i'm looking forward to hanging out here for some time to come  | ||

I like it... I've been wanting one since early Summer of 2007 when they annouced the slip-on. Alas, no one in the States carries them. You can order from Trojan motorsports in the UK if you so please. But...the Dollar to Pound isn't in the best shape. I like the fact that it retains the exhaust valve. It shouldn't be as loud as some of the other aftermarket exhausts. | ||

Can you just add the pipe or do you have to replace the header? Also, where is this available in the States? | ||

Use ECMspy and reduce your bottom row of fuel values from 1900 up on the front and rear till the popping stops. I had to do this on my Uly with the micron, and it worked really well. | ||

The decel popping is still there but it's not as bad after the static timing adjustments and resetting the TPS myself (I have the technoresearch cable/software). I need to get a cable made up for ECMspy and start messing with it but it will probably have to wait a couple of months due to weather and my move to Italy. Tread, how far did you have to adjust the values using the micron? I know that you've used ECMspy a lot and are pretty comfortable with it, did you learn by trial and error or from the ECMspy forum? | ||

I have had the pipe installed, looks and sounds great, VERY loud without the quiet inserts but i don't find that a bad thing... it runs quite smoothly, no dyno chart but feels like more torque throughout the range with no ECM or airbox mods on my 2007...decel pops are consistently there but only when RPMs fall from about 3500 to 3000, never anywhere else, and not too loud, less once the bike is warm. I read a thead elsewhere posted by al lighton i think that suggested that this is the likely range for it to happen, probably fixable with a new map but i don't know of anyone who has made one for this pipe and i'm not sure if it bothers me enough to do anything about it. Could one of you comment on the loudness when the inserts are installed compared to the stock muffler? Slightly louder, twice as loud, etc.? Thanks. | ||

Florida_lime, Thanks, I had seen that. I'm trying to get some kind of quantitative comparison of how loud it is relative to the stock exhaust. "Really nice deep tone" is highly subject to interpretation.  I'm wondering if the Termignoni (with the inserts installed) might be the exhaust for those of us looking for something only slightly louder than stock. | ||

Sorry to report that the Termi with the inserts is quite a bit louder than stock. The can w/o the inserts is rated at 103db's and with the inserts I'd guess it knocks it down about 10 - 12 dbs. |
