I went down to my local dealer (Reno) the first week of June to get the latest recall performed. I was told they had to order the parts and I'd hear from them in a week. I called them the last week of June and was told that parts were on 'back order', but they had just been told that was cleared up and I'd hear back from them in a week. Still nothing...Should I be concerned riding my bike? I got a letter from Buell stating this problem could cause 'serious injury or death'. Why my motorcycle dealer can't treat me like my car dealer does I'll never know...

I'd suggest you give a call to Buell customer service and let them know what the dealer told you and verify if the parts are on back order or not. It may not be the case this time, but that has been a convenient but untrue excuse more than once.

Go to Buell.com and click the 'site map' link...No customer service phone number. Google "buell customer service phone number" and you get local Buell dealers as results. Easier said than done...

Buell Customer Care (414) 343-8400

Same number that is in the header of the "For the Factory" and should be in the first couple pages of your owners manual.

And, here's the good news, you asked on badweb and had the answer within 6 minutes . . . try that anywhere else.

The folks at Buell Customer Service can fix you up PRONTO!

Thanks for the info, but the Buell website should have their contact number listed (even though it's in my owner's manual, etc)...

They may fix my problem, but it certainly won't be 'PRONTO'...I'm currently on hold for the 'next available representative' for the past 30 minutes. A lady came on and asked if I wanted to continue to hold or not with no idea how much longer it might be...

Is there a list of all the recalls somewhere?

I have a '07 which I got (slightly) used. I didn't ask the PO about recalls because at the time I didn't know about any.

Are there recalls for the '07 models?

thanks

Atoms,

You can go on the buell.com website and register your bike. Once you do, you can see if your bike has any outstanding recall issues. I was in the same boat and my bike needed the BAS relocation recall work done. You can easily check for that just by looking in your tail section to see if the switch is located there or not.

Atoms,

Yes, many of the '07s still need the bank angle sensor relocation. I *think* the sidestand issue was fixed on all '07s.

You can easily tell if your bank angle sensor has been relocated by removing the seat and looking in the space behind the lock mechanism. If you see a big silver aluminum bracket holding a little electronic box, then your BAS has been relocated. If you don't see anything but empty space, then you need the BAS relocation performed.

You should also be able to have any dealer run the VIN thru HD-NET and it will show any open recalls.
