I use one of these and it works fine. It's not the V-star model, though. Don't remember what it's for to tell you the truth, seems like an FJR. It's got a split bracket that goes around the handle bar and holds a straight bar that mounts the throttle clamp. | ||

I prefer this type:   It requires a bit of dremeling, and a tiny machine screw into the control casing, but I think it looks much cleaner. | ||
