Read all the posts concerning the Parabellum windshield for the Uly. Tried a Cal-Sci, which I liked very much, and currently have a Zero Gravity. With both shields, if I stand on the pegs while riding, my Schuberth C2 is very quiet. In the seated riding position, both are noisy. Trying to find something that will get the wind over the top of my helmet for winter riding. Parabellum users, can you update your likes and dislikes? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

At 5' 9", using the 2007 seat, I went with the 24" Parabellum. If I were to do it again, for the purpose of cold weather riding, I would go with the 26" or 28" version.

I was getting a little buffeting while is a normal riding position, not bad but enough to bug me a little. The issue seemed to me to be not the height, but that I needed it closer to my shield to prevent the buffeting. Because of the mount angle, 1" taller only raises the shield by about .5 inches vertically.

I wonder if a slot at the bottom (like the Cal-Sci) would help reduced the low pressure behind the shield?

I also have the ZG and love it for everyday riding.

I have a 28" Parabellum.
I have ridden about 1200 miles since the install.
So far I like it a lot. Took all of the air off my shoulders and neck. ( was running the factory "tall" ).
Worked well in the rain. Puts enough air on my face shield to keep it clean.
80 mph among semi's and such, you will notice some influence on the front end.

Peace
Milo

Milo and Caddy how tall are you folks. Height makes a big difference for shield size. thanks

Inseam is just as important as height. It can make several inches of difference in torso length for a given height. I use the inseam length for pants bought off the rack, e.g., a pair of Docker's slacks.

BTW, it would make sense for BadWeb to adopt a convention for body measurements. Some folk measure inseam to the floor in bare feet, others to the floor in riding boots, and others the way I do. Likewise, how is height measured? The most common is in bare feet but I expect others have posted heights measured with riding boots.

I suggest adopting a convention of the most common numbers we know: our height in bare feet and inseam according to pants inseam. We can then add extra info on boots if they are unusually thick. Any takers?

Pso, sorry I forgot to mention my stats.
I'm 6'2". But what really matters for this discussion is where the top of the windshield is. I look over the top of my 28". It sits about level with my upper lip.
HTH

Peace
Milo
Edit: I also forgot to add, do a search on Parabellum on all of BadWeb. There is a "lot" of good info there.

Pant inseam measurements may not work for some folks...

You can look at this to start..

It has a few links to previous threads and pics related to the Parabellum. I did post several pics with measurements etc...

Maximum, Thanks for illustrating why I didn't use jeans in my example. Some folk also still roll jeans up which makes jeans'inseams very iffy.

I'm 5'-9", 29" pant inseam, 2007 stock seat, open face helmet.

I started with a Cal-Sci tall windshield... it is about nose height... wind hit me from the eyes up. Per another guy on BadWeb, I put 2 spacers on the top attachment screws which made the windshield more vertical... now the wind was just at the top of my helmet, very little wind on my face but the bugs still hit my glasses.

Then I tried a Parabellum 28"... I look through the shield except when I sit very straight up. Good protection but the windshield seemed a little close to my face so I added Rox 2" bar risers which raise the bars about 1" and back about 1"... it helped but I may still try to put the windshield a little more vertical and cut it down maybe 1" in height to get it a little farther from my face.

I am also trying some fork wind deflectors that I made out of a 6" x 10" sheet aluminum to limit some of the wind coming over the front of the tank/airbox.

I've had Goldwings for over 21 years and with over 250,000 miles on them it's hard to get use to the wind.

Dick

ps: I have not ridden in the rain yet with either windshield
