I'm happy enough with the stock bars, so far.

I don't think I have seen that swap done or discussed.

You might be the first.

How's this for CityX bars on a Uly?

Seriously, I have mentioned this swap a few times here in the past.

Ordered these bars when I bought the bike last May before I even took possession, thought the stock '06 was too upright and wide. After riding it for awhile though decided it was just right.

Now that I have two '07 seats to ride on the slight drop in altitude has me considering installing this bar. I prefer a slightly lower than level reach to the grips that I don't have with the '07 seat and stock Uly bar.

For years I've considered the BMW R90-100S bar the icon.

Buell not only has given me an excellent high bar on my Uly but there's the CityX option, and Lightning bars may be finding their way onto my Bimmer and Honda too.

I've been struggling with this, too.

Sometimes I feel I need a lower bar, but other occasions, the ULY stock bars seem very comfortable. It's quite the delima...

The city-X bars are identical in bend to the other Lightning bars, they just add the cross bar and make them black.

I put them on as a test a short while after I got my Uly. They were OK, but I thought they were a tad too narrow. I went with Renthals instead. There is a thread here with pictures, but for some reason the search function isn't doing the AND thing right and I can't find it.

It's all compromises.

Lower would be better for sports, but I've been practicing standing up a lot more lately on the dirt and rougher stuff. The bars are slightly too low for that now.

I would like slightly wider for off road, but that stuffs up lane splitting and the majority of time I ride in town - also not as good for distance touring wind sock thing.

Standard bars seem a good compromise for my height and the wide variety of places the bike will go.

but I wouldn't mind some....never mind ; )

That would be worthy of the Buell design team - elegant and stylish adjustable handlebars.

My XS1100 has some in 1980, but the were hardly stylish.

It could be done. I worked in the bicycle industry for almost 10 years. Tech comes from motorcycles, and then eventually makes it's way back. I see lots of cheapo adjustable stems there that could easily be retrofitted for motorbikes.... hhmmm, if I was motovated enough, I could make some money there...

Adjustable handlebars, check this out:
