Hey Guys, I'm new to this board. I brought my second Ulysses on 1-20-2007. My first Ulysses my wife hated it and wouldn't even go riding on it. So I gave in and sold it. Now I'm here about 5 to 6 bikes later and again with a ulysses and LOVING IT. But now the wife loves it to. So I'm wondering if anybody has done a bolt-on kit.Wondering if its worth the money. If so how much HP & Tor did you get.. |

If you want acceleration just put in the primary from the 9 series. That alone will boost hp and torque 10%. Cuts down on top end but the rideability and and acceleration are a hoot. |

Speedcrazy, how fast do you go through bikes? You're saying you've had 5 or 6 bikes between your first Uly and now? Since we're only talking about 18 months in between it's release and now, that puts you at roughly a new bike every 3 months. Just wondering if we might be exaggerating just a wee bit. I know if I was picking up a new machine every 3 months, my wife would hate it, no matter what it was.... |

I think that may be crazy on speed, can't remember whether it was 5 or 6 bikes, sounds like me in the 70's There's a Pommy Shop doing some interesting kits that I'm up for when my Uly needs a rebuild! http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/trojanhorse/prods /104.html |

You can't increase HP by changing the primary case and it's contents. I don't know where you get that idea but it only effectively changes gear ratio. HP will be uneffected. It will accellerate quicker but to speed will be determined by HP not accelleration. Sorry to blow the bubble but you can do the same thing by changing a sprocket size but no HP increase or decrease will be achieved. |

I wish someone would answer the question as well because I've been considering the same thing. No one's done this with a Uly yet? |

Why does the uly need a 1250 kit? It had enough torque to flip over on you stock, or with a race kit. I can cruise all day at 80 and have lots of reserve power for passing. |

To me the bike needs a little something. I'm a big guy to. I talked to NRHS high preformance about what they would do. This is what the tech say to me in a E-mai (Because of the fuel injection you have to be careful how far you go with an XB series bike. Waht I would recommend is to get one of our bolt on 1250 kits and maybe some stage 1 head work done to your heads. If you don't already have it get a race ECM and a good exhaust and air cleaner. This should give you about a 15-20% increase in power.) I think I'm going to go this way.. I stop by my Harley Davidson shop to today to get a price on doing to work. They said at would be around 1300 to 1600, I'm going to have to save some money .. |

I can scare myself with the race kit, the 1430 kit is overkill.........and i want one, sad but i can't wait until my Uly needs a rebuild!
