I met US_ at the cleveland bike show. He seemed on the verge of buying then. Did you guys get a look at the vincent black shadow I am going to win? Sweet bike!
The TT looks way better in person than in the pictures.

Wow...sorry I missed you guys at the Cleveland IMS show. I was there on Saturday. I did speak to a few people that hovered around the Uly.

US_Uly - I bought mine from Lake Erie HD and would buy anothe rbike from them in a heart beat. Every time I go back, they make me feel welcome and like their best friend. The bike deal was great, Mitch is top notch in Buell's. He is also open and willing to talk about what he did to the bike.

All in all... Much better than "other" dealers in the area. Even though Elyria Harley and Lake Erie HD are sisters, buy from LAke Erie. Much better.

PM or Email me if you want to know any other info!!!

Good Luck. I live right around the corner from the dealer in N. Ridgeville, right off of 611.

I had forgotten how pretty it looks clean and unblemished. But as was said about faces it does not yet look like it has lived fully, but I am sure you are taking care of that as we speek. Congrats and have fun. Mine now looks like it is ready for blast off-I just added the Legal Speeding mount(a fine product) for my radar detector to the right side, on the left I have the garmin 376C with xm radio and weather radar and the tank bag with a cb radio to communicate with my SO when she is on her gs650 or when I am with several of my friends on long trips. I am now ready for a long trip, maybe cross country again. Anyway welcome and enjoy both the bike and this net site.

I've said it before, the planning and engineering that went into the color selections for the Uly are perfect! Every thing matches road dirt!

I can ride this thing for weeks without fear of reprisal for not having washed it. I've had so many bikes in the past that required washing and polishing before riding that I really appreciate this Buell.

Less washing time = more riding time!!!!

My son saw my Uly for the first time over Christmas. I apologized for its dirty condition (I used to keep my sportbikes pretty clean, and the Uly's been out in the dirt lately). But his comment sums it up:

"Hey, dad, it doesn't look dirty, it just looks like ya been ridin' it!"

'Nuff said.

Buy the Uly, best all around bike I ever owned. It's a sportbike, a trailie, a tourer, stunt bike...it does it all. Make sure to get the saddlebags-awesome. You'll love it. I can sell you one from Fort Lauderdale HD in Florida and ship it right to your door!-Dave.

I'm planning on getting one, too.
Has anybody been carrying a computer or any other delicate electronics in the hardbags? I'm a little concerned about long term effects of the shaking at low rpm.

I've been commuting with my computer in a backpack, but I also travel for work. It would be nice to have a bike on the road trips.

I carry my laptop back on forth to work a couple of times a week in the side bag. I live on a fairly rough, at times, dirt road. I have also carried it with me on a few small trips last fall. I haven't had any problems yet. When I rode my KLR, I went thru two hard drives in about a year oddly enough. Work supplies the computer and supplies the replacements when I damage them so I don't much worry about it. We have online back up too so I never lose any info.

I carry my laptop in the side bag and I've been down with it in the bag and landed on that bag as well. No damage to the laptop. I also carry it in the top case in the same transport bag.

So far so good with the Uly and my PC's.

Uly aficionados!

Just wanted to let you know I didn't fall of the face of the earth and my quest is continuing. The choice will be a Ulysses. The next step is to find the right dealer. I visited both Southeast and Lake Erie Harley this weekend.

At Southeast they have a Buell salesman named Tate. Nice guy and is really into Buells. They have a 2006 with the Camo gear, looks cool, and an orange 2007. Seems like they sell a good number of Buells and are committed to the brand. Left there feeling good about them.

At Lake Erie I spoke to Brian who had lots of good things to say about the dealership and the relationship with Elyria HD. Same ownership of both shops. Brian said they have a woman named Dee in Service that Drag Races Buells! So I would expect great service on Buells there. They have a black 2006 and will be getting 2007s soon.

If anyone out there has experience with both Southeast and Lake Erie, I would appreciate hearing your comments. At this point I like both, but Lake Erie is closer to home.

Just bought a Uly, and I'm having a great time with it! I should of got one a lot sooner. I'll see if I ride this more than my Harley, or Big Dog. It's a lot of fun!

I picked Lake Erie, because they are close to me (less than 6 miles away). I tried Elyria HD, but had better luck with Lake Erie (because of personel). Dee is great and knows her stuff. I worked with Matt (sales manager) and he was great to buy from. As I said, every time I go back in there, they always make me feel welcome.

Southeast...Well...I've been there, tried to give them my money..but it never worked out. I found they talk a big game. That Camo Uly has been on the floor for a LONG time. Problem is they want gold for the Camo acc.

But what it comes down to is..who you feel more comfortable with. To me it was Lake Erie. Their sales support, service (I had my bike in there for an exhaust actuator malfunction) and parts counter are top notch. I wish I could say the same thing about my Suzuki dealer that I bought from. As soon as I left, they didn't know who I was. Can't say the same for Lare Erie.

Keep us updated.... I'm planning a little Uly get together for the NEO contingent in the Spring.

Buy the new Uly from one of the site sponsors. You can get parts and service at any dealership ya want.
I seriously wish I had done just that.

Opinions please. Check out the Ulysses sale at Freedom Harley:
http://motors.search.ebay.com/Ulysses_Buell_W0QQca trefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcop agenumZ1QQfromZR9QQfromZR9QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQfstype Z1QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsacatZ49981QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3 aMEFSRCHQ3aSRCH

They have 6 2006 Ulys for sale as new, listed between $8741 and $9490.

2006 for ~$9000 or $2007 for ~$11,495?

Also, anyone know how to decode the VIN? Does it tell you when the bike was assembled?

for the $1500.00 less, I'd get the 2006. That's kinda a no-brainer! I have an 06 and love it! NO PROBLEMS what-so-ever!!!

Freedom is a good dealership. My brother works out of Lake Erie, but deals with Freedom a lot. They are the first place he calls if he can't get something at Lake Erie. That price of $9490 with the bags seems like a great deal to me if you can tolerate black. It's pretty cheap to convert it to orange anyways if you get a good deal on a black one. As far as the '06-'07 issue. I personally am starting to lean more towards the go with the '07 even for the price difference. The issues I had or am having with my bike are all changed on the '07.

That's a GREAT deal!!! and how can you not like the black? That's a real motorcycle color! At least you won't look like a road grader or a school bus like those orange Uly's do.

I know it took a while, but I put my deposit down on an 07 Ulysses today. Bought it from Lake Erie Harley/Buell. BTW, they are the only Harley/Buell dealership I know of that is open on Sundays! They are having a sale on parts next Saturday. It's either 15 or 20% off if you need anything.

So far my experience with them has been excellent. Bike should be in 4-6 weeks.

Congrats US. Great bike and a very good dealership too. Mitch in service was the Buell expert if you need any work done. He is the only service guy that has actually touched my bike since he did my sidestand recall while I was there on vacation.
