So...... after quite a while trying to figure out the front wiggle........ and having taken the bike to the dealer several times (steering tightening, ECM problems, brake light, tyres loosing pressure, etc) I had this idea.... The bike moves much more when its windy (and nop.... its not my fat self catching the wind).... but only with some particular directions (of the wind of course)... So.... I thought.... maybe it is the front fender moving with the wind.... so in a closer look.... actually the fender has the right shape to be a wing...... and the way it is attached to the lower triple tree..... it might make the bike move..... So I took it off today...... oh boy what a change....... the bike still swimms above 130...... but is so much smooth now..... I feel confident now..... So...... anybody tried this? Any ideas how to re-inforce this piece of shit to make it lees flapy? thx |

Issac, I have suggested this in a number of previous posts. You are the first to actually do the test. I have a lightning front fender on my bike and do not have the wobble issue others have experienced. I still have the 616's on the bike and taken it over 100 mph....solid as a rock. I also believe that the side bags can dam up enough air under the fender to exacerbate this phenomena. |

Thats an interesting find. I've noticed that my Uly on some days/rides has a lot of swimming/weaving and other days/rides it feels pretty stable. It seems to be wind related so maybe I'll try the upper front fender removal to see what effect it has. David |

I'm still awaiting a good *full* lower fender solution. Anything out there? |

Well I know what you mean about the front-end 'swimming' around at highway speed. I'm replacing all the factory front pieces with a standard XB front fender -- as soon as I receive it -- and hopefully that'll at least reduce the problem in the interim. Also, Al @ American Sport Bike is working on a marginally larger fender that will, IMHO, be the best fix. Reach out to Al and get on his list -- I have. G2 |

What ever happened to that Trojan front fender for the Uly? That was looking pretty promising. |

Al is also working on one for the Uly. He is currently tied up with the Muffler/silencer project, however, he has not given up on the Uly fender |
