I was checking the coils using the VDSTS software and immediately afterward I smelled something burning in my bike. It was coming from the front portion of the bike, not from under the seat. The engine was not running and it was a distinct electrical smell. I shut off the ignition and unplugged the cable and the scent went away. Afterward, I tested the coils again and all was fine. Anybody else have a similar problem with the software? The bike runs fine and I can't find the source of the burning. Strange.

You might be smelling ozone if the secondary wire has had any arcing outside the engine. If that happened you should be able to hear it arc though.

I noticed a burning smell the last couple times that I parked the Uly and after further examination I found that a zip tie melted behind the rear pipe at the head and the tranny breather (3/8" rubber hose) was touching the pipe. It smelled a lot like an electrical issue. I put several new zip ties much lower down on the hose to avoid meltdown.
