Had a set of aluminum bags from Motosport panniers lying around, so I mounted them up. All I had to do was drill four new holes for the mounting pucks. They are much narrower than the stock bags, for use around town.

I've got a couple of 20 year old olive drab ammo boxes from back when I was in the crotch (USMC). When did you steal them and that silver paint job ain't fooling anybody.

Kevin...I think they look great. How much more capacity do you get out of them?

To get the BMW Adventure Touring Look, I think I would replace the Trunk with a waterproof duffle and look totally like a world traveler.

That Beaver tail would put the duffle in a great position to provide back support and bring the high rearward weight back into the realm of reality for an adventure bike.

Just an opinion....YMMV

Yeah, I liked the look better when I took the top box off. Hepco Becker makes a small aluminum top box that fits in the stock mount. These side bags don't hold near as much as the stock bags but not many bags do. I'll still use the stock bags for long distance work though.

The nice thing about the aluminum ones is how versatile they are. The appealing thing for me is how I won't give a damn if the bike falls over on one of them. I would be upset if my stock bags were to get marred or scuffed.
