I have a new Ulysses on order and its due the First week in Sept.
I have 3 Buells. I ride all three and love to ride each one of them but I need to sell/trade one.

1998 S1- this bike is Rude, Loud, Mean and a hoot to ride. Its seven years old and still turns heads! 18,000 miles

1999 S3- 43,000 miles. 1999 was the first year for Buell Fuel Injection. I’ve had every F.I. problem know to man. My base gaskets were leaking on my 99 S3, (42,000) miles, so since it was going to be apart I bored it .010 over added Wisico pistons and had the heads rebuilt, Competition Valve job, new valve seals. I also got a newer style machined intake (2000 and later) that took care of my intake leak woes. The Fuel Injection has been worked on by Frank S. He has taught most of the HD/B mechanics and is a F.I. Expert. Frank now works for the Factory and lives 5 miles from me. My S3 has never been faster or run better. It’s a new bike! Just like my S1, wheelies are a crack of the throttle away.

2003 XB9R – Race kit, 2005 Belt and sprockets, 17,000 miles.
This bike is a surgical tool in the corners. Best ride and Suspension of all my Buells.
My XB just doesn’t have the snot that my Two Tubers have.
I think it will be the one I trade in and maybe get another XB**R in the future.

btw, I'm not changing my sign in name....

You would probably get the most out of the 9r so it would probably be a good one to let go.

I'd probably let the S3 go. If you're getting the bags for the Ulysses I doubt you'll ever need the S3 again.
You gotta keep the S1 for no other reason than it's an S1.
You need the R just cause it's a sport bike & a much different experience from the S1 & Ulysses.

Just my $.02

I'm selling my touring bike to get my Uly.

I'm keeping my commuter because the Uly is too tall for me to be comfortable in stop and go.

Daves is right. You obviously justified 3 bikes already and just need the right rationalization why 4 would be better!

1. Two_buells name could be considered 2 buells squared.

2. You always wanted a V8 in the garage.

3. You are working your way up to 1 bike per day of the week.

4. Your bumper sticker could say "My other bike is a Buell and a Buell and a Buell"

5. The four corners of the garage don't want to feel lonely, a Buell for every corner. Or "Buell, all the corners own one"!

Just some suggestions,
DBird

Functionally, you are getting a new S3.

Emotionally, you seem least attached to the 9R. Most emotinally attached would be the S1, it still turns other people's heads, enough said.

However, financially, I think you can get more money from either the S1 or the 9R. Even with all the upgrades, you won't get much for the S3T.

Tiebreaker: You should always have a carburated bike in the garage.....

Sell the 9R! Easy, see?

Hi,

Just keep them all. Tell your wife your trying to keep up with me, I have 7 bikes now. Here's a tip, buy her something. When I got my 12s, I stopped in at La-z-boy and ordered a new couch, smoothed everything over, well worth the extra 1500.

You may justify letting one go at the time but you will regret it one day. I really wish I had know this when I sold my '63 Impala SS396 or my 68 BSA Lightning or my 69 Cobra-Jet Fairlane or my '73 Norton Commando or my..... well you get the idea.

Dbird, " a Buell for every corner" I love it! I just spit coke through the nose and all over my keyboard!

I do have a V8 in the garage...1979 Z/28 that I bought new when I was 19.

Tomd, I'm single so I could keep them all but I bought a New Jeep Grand Cherokee 7 months ago and I still have to eat.....btw I only have 2200 miles on the new Jeep....

Dbird,
its now Two_buells squared.
I bought a Schwinn/Buell Mtn bike last year....

Jose, its a no-brainer...the 9R is going

I vote to unload the S3. The XB12X is the closes of the three to this bike.

S1 - The muscle Street bike

XB9R - The Sport bike

XB12X - Sport Touring /Adventure bike

Two_buells,
Your name WILL be inaccurate with 3 buells (should be 4) but you could change it to an anagram to maintain the same keystrokes.

BLOWS LUTE
BULL SO WET
US LOW BELT
SUBTLE OWL
ELBOW LUST
