Anyone ever seen the splines strip off on the front pulley? It's from a 96 S1 with only 5600 miles. Stock engine and never raced.

Some people on here have that happen to.
It could be that the sprocket was not right onto the output splines and slowly worn off.

You can ask it in the Old school section to if you want!

My 92 Sportster did that. The pulleys in those years was only 1/2" thick at the spline area and the failure was common. It was upgraded to 3/4", with a change in spacer thickness. Not sure what year that happened.
