Thank You Erik,

I don't post much but I felt this to be needed. I have a Buell, not an EBR. As much as I like riding, showing off, having people hold their hand up to their chin and stroke it while pondering where the coolness level sits with my bike, mine will be in storage.
It's adorned with yesteryear tuber race parts that are nearly unobtainium at this point. Call me weird but I won't buy another bike unless it's a Buell while this one stays in storage, resting and even then, it will be hard for me to cheat on the bike I slaved over, building and sourcing parts for years on end. There will be day in the future when the Buell's and EBR's of the world will be the bike that attracts all the attention where ever it is. It makes me sick to see all of these choppers and bikes being parted out but, in the long run, makes it a rarer beast. I'm happy to keep mine away from the risks of riding that way I can always have a piece of history. Thank you Erik for giving me something that gives me joy and a sh!t eating grin on my face when I look at her. Because of your sacrifices, your heart, your will and your mind, I am one step closer to pure happiness. Thank you for giving all Buell and EBR owners that sense of euphoria when we swing our legs over your brain children and that's how I see them, your children. There is to much passion behind the creation of these machines to called much else.

While I can appreciate the sentiment and you are entitled to do as you please, these machines were meant to be ridden and enjoyed.

That IMO is the best 'thank you' you can give.

I tend to agree Zacks. Ride it til the wheels fall off (hopefully not literally).
I can appreciate wanting to keep a bike that beautiful looking good, but I wouldn't do it to keep the ODO low....but that's me.

I will echo the "Thank You" to Mr. Erik Buell.

Sample as many different models as possible.
My first Buell was a 2003 XB9R.
I was hooked the first shift to second, accompanied by a 1-2 foot wheel loft.

Cut to the chase... 1991 1200RS Westwind - smooooth and long.
Alcohol destroyed the lining of the gas tank -
Can't find anyone to fix it so it's a DIY; M2 black inner tank on her, lashed to the frame with Buell ratchet straps.

2008 1125R first one on the road in Colorado.
Quick/fast but my Firebolt handled better.

2009 XB12X Ulysses - goofiest looking bike next to that BMW that looked like Bill the Cat.
I LOVE it! most practical vehicle I have ever owned.
Spent 80 miles today on her, TKC-80s and dirt roads!!!!!!

2012 1190RS Carbon #93 - Omigod this thing handles like the Firebolt but has 100 more horsepower.
I really want to make a trip to High Plains but so far have attended a few of US Mile's events.
2016 in Colorado I hit 178.4mph, stock but with a Drummer exhaust and a generic fatter map from IDS.
I want to get Tim's expertise at tuning before a showing at Homecoming and the Colorado/Texas mile events this year.
