So after 2 years I'm considering installing taller bars on my 2017 SX. The most info I've found is in this thread:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/713 493/786304.html?1466083218

It shows that Erik's personal bike has ProTaper Adventure bars (approximately 2" higher) and other posts reveal that new clutch hose, brake hose, and throttle cables are required to install the taller bars.

I'm just wondering if anyone here's actually installed taller bars, and if so, can you share info on the longer hoses and throttle cables (lengths, source).

TIA

Listening; I did the flip a top clamp up side down and mill it to fit mod with stock everything, about a 5/8" rise, that is a step in the right direction. I tried some "Adventure" bars that everything but the clutch hose fit with some careful throttle cable cable routing. They are unavoidably wider than stock, a negative. But a higher set of "bar back" clamps made on the mill with the stock handle bars is a likely winter project. I also have dropped foot pegs from china for a Buell, and a padded seat installed, those help too.

^ Gary- thanks for that info. A top clamp would be worth trying. The stock cables and hoses worked with that?

I bought lower pegs from LAP on eBay shortly after I got my SX, but I haven't needed them. For once, it's nice to have short legs.

I found that the Alaska sheepskin that I purchased for the passenger seat on my Uly works very well on my EBR. It makes a big difference.

You might try here:

I've used their brakelines on other machines. Tech was easy to deal with and will (well...would) make any length.
They may also have some bar and mount options.
Regarding throttle cables, MotionPro will do the same. Although their EBR kit I have on the RX seems like it would work to me.

Yes, didn't have to change anything.
I also have a sheepskin with a slightly inflated bladder that goes on any bike I'm putting some miles on.
