Just picked up a new 2014 sx yesterday. Got it home on the back of the truck. Got it home and the battery was dead. put it on the charger and the fuel pump was running. I pumped the fuse for the fuel pump and let the bike charger over night. Put the fuse back in and fuel continues to run. So I started it up and got a check engine light. Nice brand new bike and haven't even taken a ride yet. Wish I had a service manual. Any ideas before I haul it back to the dealer.

This is caused by a short in the fuel pump wiring where the 4 wires go into the pump body.

Fuel pump has to come out to fix it...whether it is to repair the short, or replace the pump.

I'd be hauling it back to the dealer for them to fix that nice little pre-existing condition.

...and if they won't fix it, it's not that hard of a DIY.

Get them to replace the battery too, the stupid Shorai battery doesn't like deep discharges like that and it was damaged.

Just an update, took the bike back and they changed the fuel pump. Been working like a champ so far.
