31k..I do not have ecm droid, nor the plug to connect it to the diagnostic plug however,I do have the factory service manual and I have made a jumper wire to jump the diagnostic plug as per there instructions...So today,I jumped the diagnostic pins on my 99s3,to be able to flash the check engine light to check for codes...I was out for a ride sunday and the bike simply quit running suddenly..Coasted to a stop waited a second, and the bike fired back up..and I was able to limp it home..Once I got there and shut it off,Previuos to this when cold,it would sometimes miss until it got warm, and the problem would stop..I now have no spark and not fuel pump function..I noticed with the key on,the check engine light is flashing without interuption and not stopping..After I plugged in the jumper wire and turned the key to run,it does exactly the same thing which means I cannot check for codes..Also had a Dyno jet loaned to me which I plugged in,and got nothing at all from...in reading the manual,I can find no reference to this senario, but suspect a short to ground.....ignition fuse is fine..engine cranks fine..I also found today there is an ignition relay,so wondered about it..but can't fine any instruction on how to jump it...I suspected a bad ignition sensor and tried another used one I was loaned..and same senario.I did get a new one which came in to day which I will also try since I have it and not sure if the used sensor I was loaned is good or not although I was told it was from a friend ho has a local shop and carried this one as his spare on his S2...Twin motorcycles has the diagnostic plug available which I was going to buy but frankly not too familiar with laptop diagnosis and tuning being 65 yrs young and having never done it...I also understand that dis-connecting one by one the intake temp sensor, crank sensor, throttle position sensor or speedo sensor's until I find the sensor that is bad should eventually get me to the point that the check engine light will stop flashing continually so I can then hopefully flash the codes through my check engine light..Any help from those more knowledgeable than I is most appreciated..have put 12k trouble free miles on it thus far and am on my 3rd S3..thank you..
