Hello
I have issues on my Buell since the big oem air cleaner box is back on (current set up : oem carb with a dynojet kit, Supertrapp and big oem aircleaner box)

Bike is dribbling from 3500rpm and won’t go past that, on the freeway it doesn’t go more than 65mph...

I have been told from my local shop that I need to replace the carburetor by a new one and I’m thinking to put a Mikuni HSR42 (42-11) instead of getting a new stock one, what do you guys think ?

I’d also like to know if it possible to put on a Mikuni HSR42 (42-11) carburetor while keeping the big oem aircleaner box on my S1 WL ? I have seen a Buell S1 by the past with that set up so I do think it’s possible !? If it is can you please tell me what other possible parts I might need and what to do ?

Thank you for your help and replies

It sounds like you either need to check the float level and/or verify the bowl vent is clear. I don't think I'd spend the extra cash on the Mikuni. I run the stock carb with the Dynojet kit also still using the stock breadbox (with K&N air cleaner) and in my case a Borla muffler on my tuber.

If the float and bowl vent check out, another thing to possibly consider would be a pinhole in the slide diaphragm preventing the slide from fully opening.
