Hello, I bought a 2003 Buell Blast couple of months and I am the third owner. It only has 8,500 miles on the bike. Recently I replaced the exhaust with Vance and Hines. Took I out for a spin and it quit running . I took the carb off and gave it a good cleaning. It runs and starts now but blows out blue smoke but not all the time. When I give it throttle it will blow blue smoke out then quit then blue smoke again. Getting a lot of blowby through crankcase breathing hose. Any suggestions?

When things like this happen. i look at what has been changed and go through those things first. (usually it is the contributing factor.) Start there first. btw the blast is a very easy bike to troubleshoot and fix. if you need a manual and cant find it on the board. pm me i believe i have one.

Blue smoke under the conditions you describe is almost always associated with valve stem seals that are worn or failing.
Check your plug for indication of lean running, very light tan with tinges of yellow tending to green deep inside the porcelain insulator, could be changing the pipe has caused it to run lean and you now need a valve job.
If that is the case you will have to upsize your main jet as well.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I did not want to tear into the engine but think I will have to. I will pull the plug and take a look.
